Bless 10, 000 - And Their Blessing Will Bless You !
In 1990, I was given a vision that I would become a millionaire, and as with many families, my vision was the "butt" of many jokes ... I'd laugh right along with my friends and family, but I never took my eye off that vision ... it was simple to me ... ten hundred thousand dollar homes would give me a million dollars in assets, and over twenty years I'd pay them off, and have a million dollar net worth; and that's exactly what I did - I was a millionaire before forty!

I guess the story should end there, but there's more ...I went on to own over thirty houses, valued at almost five million, and of course I carried the "five million dollar headache" that goes along with real estate investment - nevertheless, I was a millionaire - EVERYONE stopped laughing; however, some SUGGESTED that perhaps I went about my journey to millionaire -dom in a less than honest way - the very thought burned me up ... here I am working a hundred hours per week, in real estate and corporate america ( Fortune #23 ), and people have the stomach to suggest I was less than honest - like I said, it burned me up!

I made a decision to not only build upon my wealth, but to develop "one hundred millionaires" - my vision was "1000 ...100" - win one thousand souls, and help ten percent become millionaires; I say this was my vision, in truth it still is.

I started my project with several young men working for me ... I mentored them daily, we met weekly and planned a real estate strategyt around buying, building and developing real estate in the Metro Nashville area - we did well; three of five went to millionaire status - just ninety -seven more, I thought!

I asked each of my young millionaire students/friend to help me shoulder the burden of developing another "ninety -seven millionaires" over a seven year period, and of course they agreed .

I was thinking, "this is easy" - why doesn't everyone do this? We were expanding our real estate network, investing in restaurants, networking with a number of sport celebrities - just creating wealth everywhere we went ... blessing people and being blessed!

We were all like the "millionaires next door" - no one knew us, nor suspected that we were all millionaires ... that soon changed. Several articles, ribbon cuttings and ground breaking events put my "little millionaire" group on the "wire" - suddenly we had lots of attention, and our millionaire sports celeb buddies, only added to the attention.

Now we were being scrutinized, evaluated - tracked! The pressure to perform, and live up to our press grew, our competition increased external to our group, and strangely enough internal to our group! We begin to compete for press, fight for attention, attempt to "one up, one another"; we lost sight of the "vision to create", and begin to focus on maintaining, and adding to our "own kingdom" - on lookers really enjoyed that fiasco!

Jumping to the end of the story - we lost everything! People ask me today, how did the "triune" lose everything ... well the answer is simple - we lost each other, we lost our "synergy", our "mojo" ... we lost the secret to our success - friendship!

Now several years after the madness, we're all in the recovery mode, and we're all friends again ... having had both millions and friendship, I value the friendship deeply. We have to work at though, it's always easy to "back track" towards the madness that almost destroyed us! LESSON LEARNED ? Oh, yes ! Maybe my story will help someone figure out how to gain the millions, and maintain the "stuff that dreams are made of" - family and friendship!

I've not given up on creating 100 millionaires - STAND BY ( smile) !
