So I grabbed a blank sheet of paper and started to write down the 10 most important skills YOU NEED TO DEVELOP to become a top income earner in your network marketing company.
Not the tools you need, not the systems to use, or anything like that... but the skills you personally must master.

As I began to review the list, I immediately picked one and then quickly realized when I reached the bottom - nothing compared.
There wasn't even a close second.
The # 1 most important skill is without question, driving traffic.
It's probably the #1 hardest skill, too!
In fact, it's probably the #1 reason most people try network marketing or Internet marketing and quit within just a few months.
The story usually goes something like this ...
1. You try generating some leads of your own.
2. You spend a small fortune.
3. You pull in a few, but they don't buy or join you.
4. You keep trying.
5. You keep spending.
6. You keep failing.
7. So you decide it's just too hard, you think, "the gurus must be hiding their best kept secrets" and so you quit; frustrated, more in debt than when you started, a little bitter, and so you start telling yourself you are just not meant for success.
What a bunch of hooey!
Yes, it's true. It is hard; maybe the hardest thing you'll ever do, but it's not too hard.
First of all, I don't subscribe to the philosophy that ANYTHING is too hard. I believe anything is possible if you put your mind to it. And because I want you to succeed, I am going to show you how to make something that is perhaps the hardest thing you'll ever do in your business (driving traffic) ... easy.
Step # 1: Set a Goal
Do not bypass this step!
Pick a short term goal like "I want to generate my first (or next) 10 leads," or next 20, or next 100. Pick something you can attain within the next month.
Write down your target date: mm/dd/yyyy.
Step # 2: Pick a Lead Generation Strategy
Choose one (and only one).
One that's within your budget and time constraints.
Commit to becoming an expert in that one strategy.
Do not waver.
Do not get sidetracked.
When you master it (i.e. when you're bringing in Hundreds of leads a month), pick a new strategy. Repeat.
Step # 3: Work the Plan
Study how to do it and do it right.
Put what you learn into action.
Take massive action. Using 1000 keywords (for AdWords) is better than 10 keywords. Writing 100 articles is better than writing 10.
Step # 4: Keep Working the Plan!
Be consistent.
Do not take a week off.
Do not try it for one month to see how you do and then play the, "Well, let's see if it works" game. It will never work with that attitude.
Commit to doing it, learning it, keep doing it until it works... not to see "if" it works.
AdWords works.
Article marketing works.
Video marketing works.
Social networking works.
Pick something. Commit. Go do it.
You want to be different than your competitors? You want to be a big success? You want to actually make money instead of lose money?
Then do not be a whiner. Be a doer.
There are ZERO whiners at the top of the leader board. They didn't get there by relying on someone else, or waiting for some magic system, or by hoping their upline would do all the work for them.

We’re in the midst of an economic meltdown created by Wall Street greed, financial industry ineptitude, and a multi-billion dollar government bail out of the financial system that isn’t working. The American dream has been hijacked by complacency and incompetence. My experience is that the greatest opportunities exist when economic times are at their worst. That’s why, after the real estate crash of the ‘90s, I came back stronger than ever. The first thing I learned is that when times are tough, you need to hedge your bets—you need to diversify - so, my bets are hedged, my mind is made up, and this will mark my third comeback - WATCH ME NOW !!!

GBG recently added a Platinum membership and enhanced its compensation plan even more. Not long ago, I wrote about what I thought was the premier compensation plan in the industry, so good it was copyrighted. It was already one of the most generous plans around, and the requirements to qualify for commissions were about as easy as you could make it. And yet, GBG has managed to improve the plan, sweetening the pot even more. GBG has also introduced a new membership level for those who want to take their business to another level. The GBG Platinum membership package offers distributors extensive marketing training, marketing materials, and a brand new advanced pay plan over and above the regular (Gold) compensation plan. I think that it says a lot for the management and ownership of GBG that they are constantly working to improve the distributor and customer experience. But before we dive into the details of these new improvements, lets do a quick recap of the GBG Opportunity.
GBG is a 15-year old company based in Vacaville, California owned by Stuart Finger. The GBG opportunity is free to join, there is the requirement to purchase a month’s supply of the 10-in-One Liquid Multi-Forumla. Once you join you receive a free distributor kit, opportunity website, and back office. The GBG 10-in-One Liquid Multivitamin and Mineral Formula boasts of having 10 formulas which contain all of the superfruits, and 23 essential vitamins and minerals, as well as an additional 70 trace minerals in one bottle. When you join GBG, you are entered into a 2×10 forced matrix that expands to 2×30 based on certain qualifications. You only need to enroll two distributors to become a Regional Manager and fully participate in the compensation plan. You are basically paid $1 for every person in your matrix. You also will receive fast start bonuses on any of your enrollees’ first order. What made the compensation plan truly unique was the concept of pay points though. Pay points allow you to re-enter the matrix in a new pay position over everyone you personally enroll after your first two enrollees. So you can have multiple positions in your downline and get paid for each one. So why try to improve on this?
My opinion is that the new compensation plan provides incentives to the heavy-hitters or the people who are willing to go the extra mile in order to build a solid business. GBG already had a promotion level called Senior Regional Manager (SRM). In order to achieve the SRM level, you just need to help your two enrollees enroll two auto-ship customers of their own. The SRM level qualifies you for 15 levels of pay ($0.25 on levels 10-15). GBG has added the Executive Regional Manager (ERM) which has to maintain 10 personally enrolled auto-ship customers in your organization. The ERM qualifies for $1.00 on levels 1-15. GBG already had Regional Vice Presidents (RVP) and Executive Vice Presidents (EVP) who qualify for even more pay and bonuses. The EVP receives pay on up to 20 levels. Finally there is the President’s Club Members who receive pay on up to 30 levels. And if you sign up for the Platinum Membership, you will have even more ways to earn.
The Platinum Membership Package not only increases your earning power, but also provides you with a solid internet marketing education. The GBG Platinum Business Builders training package contains training materials including DVDs and CDs, advanced training calls with GBG leaders, marketing materials, and deep-discounts on additional GBG marketing materials. The Platinum membership has an annual cost of only $300, and but the earning potential is huge. As a Platinum Member, if you sell a Platinum package earn a $30 fast start bonus, plus 7 levels of platinum pay at $10 for each Platinum in your organization. When you sell your second Platinum package, you earn a $70 fast start bonus and qualify for 10 levels of platinum pay at $10 per pay point. Every subsequent Platinum package you sell after your first two will net you a $200 fast start bonus and qualify you for 30 levels of platinum pay. At this point I would suggest that you do a little more research about the GBG opportunity, as I have only been able to scratch the surface here. And the more I learn about this company, the more impressed I am. For example, the owner and leaders of this company are distributors too, and the only compensation they receive is from the same compensation plan that their distributors enjoy. It impressed me that more than 60% of the revenue generated by GBG is re-cycled back into distributor commissions and bonuses. And it continues to impress me everytime that management sets out to give the distributors more than they did yesterday. That in turn creates massive distributor loyalty, which means increased retention. It’s simply good business.

My opinion is that the new compensation plan provides incentives to the heavy-hitters or the people who are willing to go the extra mile in order to build a solid business. GBG already had a promotion level called Senior Regional Manager (SRM). In order to achieve the SRM level, you just need to help your two enrollees enroll two auto-ship customers of their own. The SRM level qualifies you for 15 levels of pay ($0.25 on levels 10-15). GBG has added the Executive Regional Manager (ERM) which has to maintain 10 personally enrolled auto-ship customers in your organization. The ERM qualifies for $1.00 on levels 1-15. GBG already had Regional Vice Presidents (RVP) and Executive Vice Presidents (EVP) who qualify for even more pay and bonuses. The EVP receives pay on up to 20 levels. Finally there is the President’s Club Members who receive pay on up to 30 levels. And if you sign up for the Platinum Membership, you will have even more ways to earn.
The Platinum Membership Package not only increases your earning power, but also provides you with a solid internet marketing education. The GBG Platinum Business Builders training package contains training materials including DVDs and CDs, advanced training calls with GBG leaders, marketing materials, and deep-discounts on additional GBG marketing materials. And the more I learn about this company, the more impressed I am. For example, the owner and leaders of this company are distributors too, and the only compensation they receive is from the same compensation plan that their distributors enjoy. It impressed me that more than 60% of the revenue generated by GBG is re-cycled back into distributor commissions and bonuses. And it continues to impress me everytime that management sets out to give the distributors more than they did yesterday. That in turn creates massive distributor loyalty, which means increased retention. It’s simply good business.

We Have Some Trying Days Ahead Of Us - Believe Me !
I have foreseen an unfortunate, but inevitable crash in the economy. The reason I say inevitable is based on the simple fact that our economy follows a very apparent "four seasons" if you will, much like those we experience in weather patterns. These four seasons, however, take much longer to play out.
Over our lifetime, or about 80 years, the economy goes through four seasons, just like our weathner each year: spring, summer, fall, and winter. The last winter season was from 1929—1942 after the bubble boom of 1914—1929; followed by a spring boom into 1965—1968; then a summer slowdown with rising inflation (like temperatures) into 1980—1982; then a fall bubble boom into 2007. The next winter season is ahead from 2008 into 2020/2023 as we predicted 20 years ago with deflation in prices, just like falling temperatures.
Knowing this simple, and predictable, fact allows us to plan ahead for our financial futures. You can't change the weather or the economic cycles — you can only "reset your sails." We plan for winter by buying coats and stocking up on firewood and fuels; we go snow skiing instead of water skiing. You have to change your investment, business, and life plans for this inevitable winter season ahead.
This is where the current government initiative to handle our economic downturn is having problems. Instead of looking at the underlying, predictable factors that caused this economic downturn, the government simply tried to mask the problem by feeding our economy a magic blue pill. It is now becoming evident that the stimulus program or "Viagra" didn't work, and we are now all faced with "ED," or economic dysfunction, again.
Just as we calculated in The Ticking Time Bomb update to How to Prosper in a Downturn, this stimulus program ignited a stock and economic recovery. However, it is now predictably failing as Baby Boomers are aging into a "saving vs. spending" lifestyle. The excessive debt levels have become so tremendous that consumers and businesses are having to cut back and stop borrowing, only adding to the stimulus stalemate. Now, the recovery is fading after a Dow rally to around 11,000. Another major stock crash is likely just ahead from mid- to late July into December.
The doom and gloom of this statement may seem frightening, but there are positives that will come from the necessary restructuring of our economy. This restructuring needs to start with the government helping in writing off up to $20 trillion in debt of the $42 trillion that the private sector has accrued. This action would save over a trillion dollars a year in interest payments for consumers and businesses — forever — and cost the government around $8 trillion to support the banking system while it goes through that "detox" process. It is very counterintuitive to understand, but this type of long-term stimulus program will create a much needed deflation. Deflation may seem painful at first, almost like a detox to kick our debt addiction, but it will lower our cost of living and business and ultimately set the foundation for the next mass prosperity boom. To understand this fact, all we have to do is look into our economic history and the "seasons" that our economy has weathered.
The last "Great Depression" in the 1930s eliminated a lot of debt and forced businesses to "shake out" and consolidate in a "survival of the fittest" struggle to create even lower-cost products and services that became even more mass affordable into the 1940s to 1960s boom. We saw in the boom from 1942 to 1968 that the prosperity spread more to everyday households, and this will happen again in the next global boom from 2020/2023 and forward. Deflation is a natural process like winter every year, and it will be good for our economy long term, even though it will be painful at first. Winter sets the stage for the next spring boom and longer-term prosperity.
Looking at our economic situation from this perspective makes it that much easier to live through times like these. You can see the key economic trends that will impact your life, business, and investments over the rest of your lifetime.Demographic cycles, technological innovation cycles, and even predictable commodity and geopolitical cycles can allow you to see the most key and general economic trends for decades ahead, not just years. Politicians do not largely drive our economy; people do. By acknowledging this, you can easily use our forecasting tools to plan your major life, family, investment, and business decisions decades into the future and not be "surprised" by major events like the recent financial meltdown — you can be "at peace" with change — and change is the one thing you can count on.

In what is possibly the worst economy in eighty years, in a time when America is struggling for breathe and life, the "so-called" great mlm leaders have gone into hiding - gone down a black hole!
In what is actually the "perfect storm" ... broken economy - stocks,real estate, housing. The numbers say it all ... 46% of all American households spend more than they make, 66% of Americans do not have $2500.00 in savings ... we have 9.6% unemployed, and leading forecasters like Harry S.Dent predict 15% unemployment. In what is actually the "perfect storm" ... broken economy - stocks,real estate, housing. In a economy where the "money engine" baby boomers are scratching their heads, and wondering "what happened to my money?"; the mlm leaders have disappeared. Hiding behind "glamour -glitz" websites, and "so-called" auto money machines - all hustle, no help. In a time when America needs leadership ... there is very little leading at all!
What's worst than these "non-leading" leaders, are the lazy followers who throw their money at these foolish gifting programs and half baked mlm ideas ... these lazy minded followers abandon all "common sense", and run to slaughter without a second thought, and having lost more hard earned money, are forced to put retirement off yet another year. The only thing more "sick" than the lack of common sense is the arrogance of the sheep - they spit on, laugh at true leaders while being torn apart!
I grew up listening to the likes of Bill Britt, Dexter Yager, Dr. Forrest C. Shaklee, Sr, Jay Van Adel, Rich DeVoss,Blake Roney ... these mlm founding fathers spoke of a day when good products and great people would converge with struggling Americans to form an alliance, and create economies amongst ourselves.
So, where now ? The numbers say it all ... 46% of all American households spend more than they make, 66% of Americans do not have $2500.00 in savings ... we have 9.6% unemployed, and leading forecasters like Harry S.Dent predict 15% unemployment. Treat Me Like A Customer
"Have you ever been to one of those training seminars where the presenter gives you a huge list of objections, and each one is paired with a quick snappy rebuttal for you to hammer back at your prospect?
Every time I hear that type of 'objection-rebuttal' training I visualize a tennis match. The objection is the tennis ball and you and the prospect just keep hitting it back and forth over the net, each one trying to hammer it back harder than the shot before.
It sounds great in theory. All you have to do is learn the list of snappy comebacks and you're all set the next time a prospect throws an objection at you, right? Wrong! We both know the reality is much different when you're in the trenches with a prospect. Just having a list of comebacks and rebuttals is totally worthless."

Retirement Concerns Weigh Heavy for Women
American women are not typically looking forward to retirement. Instead of envisioning the opportunity to step back from work and spend more time with the grandkids or pursue hobbies, a large number of older women are dreading the thought of retirement. Why? In part, the realities of a challenging economy, longer life spans and fewer guaranteed retirement plans have added a layer of financial stress to the retirement horizon for everyone. And women, who by virtue of their gender roles are more likely to have interrupted work histories, are feeling the pressure.
Survey says — women have more to worry about
According to a recent survey of Americans, women are more worried than men about their prospects for a comfortable retirement.† While men scored high in concern about having enough to do when they retire, women were more likely to express concern about the financial ramifications of this phase of their lives. Specifically, more women than men said they are very concerned or somewhat concerned about the following retirement issues:
The rising cost of health care – Eighty-seven percent of women responding to the survey believe their health care costs in retirement will grow faster than their retirement income.
The cost of living in general – Eighty-three percent of women believe the overall cost of living will grow faster than their retirement income.
Declining health – Seventy-five percent of surveyed women worry about their health in retirement, wondering if they will require costly health care and have a poor quality of life.
Outliving their money – Sixty-four percent of women are concerned they may run out of money before they take their last breath.
The reality behind the worry
The women surveyed are not more anxious or fearful than men. Rather, they may simply be more realistic about their finances — and retirement will be more difficult for women than men. The Hartford survey reveals some reasons why women more frequently report feeling vulnerable about financing their twilight years.
Being single contributes to worry
As it turns out, marital status makes a difference. A much higher percentage of single women age 65 and above are not financially secure compared to their married counterparts. These single, lower-income women have good cause to wonder how they will make ends meet in retirement if they are struggling now, while they are earning an income. And it’s not just single women who are more likely to be economically disadvantaged. On average, married women who become widowed experience a significant reduction in their earnings, which is not true for men who lose their spouses.
Women feel less prepared — because they are.
While American women are entering and staying in the workforce in unprecedented numbers, there remain gender differences in retirement preparedness, especially when you consider women age 45 and above who left the workforce to raise a family. Taking time off to stay home means fewer years in the workforce. Less time in the workforce translates to lower overall earnings, which affects your ability to save as well as your social security payout levels in retirement. Plus, not only do women tend to earn less, they also live longer, which can put them in a precarious financial position going into retirement.
Do what you can with what you have
Awareness and preparation can go a long way toward combating retirement anxiety. There are steps women can take to improve their retirement outlook. Here are some suggestions:
Start saving now. Whether your retirement is almost here or decades away, saving is fundamental. Contribute to your employer-sponsored retirement plan and take advantage of the company match if it’s available.
Keep working. Women who remain on the job stay active and connected to others. They also continue to receive a paycheck. Opting to retire early can significantly reduce your annual social security payments, whereas continuing to work beyond 65 means you will get a larger check from the government when you do retire.

We as network marketers must understand that our first approach with individuals in regards to our MLM business opportunity will not be met with the affirmative. It will

You know how it starts; those little muscles in the corner of your mouth mobilize, your teeth to peek from your lips, then...booyah! You're smiling. A smile is like a priceless little charity, or an unexpected warm hug for your face. One of those instant comforts that cost us nothing more than a few moments, but has the ability to softly resound with us for years at a time.
Smiles dog-ear the pages of our favorite memories; maybe it's your child's first toothless grin, or the first time you saw your wife ( a personal favorite). Maybe it's your hometown team finally winning that championship, or a quick grin from that passing stranger just when you think the world is personally raining on you.
While surfing the movie channels last night I came across Pay it Forward, a truly uplifting little film about a 12 year old boy who embarks on a journey to better the world with good deeds. I'd seen the film before, but couldn't help but pause at the simplicity and poignant efforts of the kid and his teacher. It reminded me smiles are a daily opportunity to acknowledge the very beauty in of each of us. An opportunity to pause and remember we actually are all in this together. Because sometimes it's not what you have that makes a difference in someone's day, it's what you give.

Everything Isn't What It Seems To Be !
I have been in the MLM/network marketing industry for a while, and one of the most important things I have figured out is that there is one common trait that all successful people or the "MLM Gurus" in this industry share. I believe that it is this one trait that separates the "have's" from the "have not's". This one trait is so vitally important that you must possess it to have any chance of becoming a MLM Guru yourself.
What is the trait? Well instead of just giving you the answer let's chronicle the professional life's of three of the most successful MLM Gurus in this industry. See if you can pick out the trait that led them to greatness, before I tell you what it is.
Three MLM Guru's One Trait
Mike Dillard: Mike fell flat on his face when he first started in this business. He couldn't sponsor anyone outside of a couple of close friends and relatives. He struggled for years trying to build his MLM business. Then once he thought he had met up with the right people, positioned himself in a growing organization, and was finally ready to succeed....... 9/11 happened. He was back to ground zero; no one on his team was interested in moving forward.
What did Mike do? Well one thing is for sure, he didn't quit. He continued to increase his value to others by constantly learning and working his business. He didn't let 9/11 or anything else stop him. He kept going until he perfected the skills necessary to recruit an army of motivated distributors. His persistence allowed him to build the 2nd largest downline in his primary opportunity. He has since gone on to become one of the best trainers in the MLM industry. Moving on.....
Mark Wieser: Mark started out much the same way Mike Dillard did. He fell flat on his face when he started. Believe it or not, he was afraid to even pick up the phone and call a prospect (this is especially shocking because he now has his own e-book on how to talk to prospects on the phone).
What did Mark Do? He kept pushing through his fears of calling people and after hundred's of rejections he noticed something......he was getting better. He started to recruit 20-30 people a month, by doing nothing more than cold calling leads (for those of you out there who have ever "cold called" a lead, you know how impressive this is). His persistence, attention to detail, and constant improvement of skills has made him very wealthy. He is now considered by many to be the best phone prospector in this industry. How about Jimmy Davis, how did he succeed........
Jimmy Davis: Jimmy started at a VERY young age (14) in this industry. When Jimmy joined his first MLM, he had to have his parents sign a waiver form to get him in. As you might expect, he struggled for the next 6 years trying every scheme, scam, and opportunity out there. All his friends and family had all but lost faith in him. But he kept with it (noticing a trend here?).
Jimmy was fed up with failing. He decided to start calling everyone he could find online and off that was successful in MLM. He was looking for "the secret" that they knew that he didn't. After many calls to many "MLM Guru's" he finally figured it out. They didn't have any secret; there was no secret traffic source, magic saying, or anything! The only thing the MLM Guru's were doing that he wasn't was positioning themselves as experts. After learning the so called "secret" he quickly applied that knowledge and the rest as they say is history. He now owns his own multi-million dollar company called My Story Marketing, and is one of the industry's top trainers.
So What's The Trait?
